Morning Fog in Heidelberg
Locals Coffee
It was my first time in Heidelberg — visiting a friend who moved to Germany at the very beginning of the war. We hadn’t seen each other for a long time. We used to play badminton together in Kyiv, and now we’re meeting in a city that was completely new to me — one whose name I couldn’t even remember at first.
In the morning, I went out for a walk and stepped into a thick fog. My plans to explore had to wait, so I went looking for a cozy café.
A small place called Locals Coffee Heidelberg, warm light, and a very friendly barista. She brought me a coconut milk cappuccino and, laughing, said she had tried to draw a Christmas tree on it — but she’s still learning. I smiled widely and remembered a small dream of mine — to feel like a barista, even just for one day:
to take a short course, learn more about coffee, and try creating art on milk foam.
Something new and interesting lies ahead. And that alone already feels inspiring.
The morning felt calm and cozy. A book in my hands, a new city around me, the feeling that no one knows you here.
And somewhere nearby — a friend I’ll soon meet after years of only talking online.
Christmas is ahead — and there’s already something special in the air, something completely new.
I love catching these moments — when something happens for the first time.
This is what energy feels like. Not from coffee, but from moments.
For me, coffee is more about inspiration, enjoyment, time for myself, for thoughts and stories.
I already know what truly fills me.
When I’m not rushing. When I allow myself to feel the moment.
If this made you smile,
if it brought a little warmth inside —
you can treat me to a coffee for a new story ☕
Thank you for reading and for treating me to a coffee
