Where dreams become real

I’m exactly where I want to be.

Foro Italico, Roma

This is already a new travel story about Rome, because it’s not my first time here — but it is my first time at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia tennis tournament 🎾🇮🇹

It was a dream that was beautiful just to dream about. But dreams start becoming real when you take at least one step toward them.

Quite often I catch myself thinking that maybe it would be better to leave something for "next time." But then I realize that when the opportunity is there, you have to catch it.

Even if I know the journey will be difficult, even if I feel not fully ready — moments like that first day at the monumental Foro Italico sports complex in Rome inspire me and give me energy.

The atmosphere of the tournament, the players, the people united by one sport... And Italy itself is a story of its own.

I’ve loved Italian music since childhood. At home we had records of Eros Ramazzotti, Toto Cutugno, Adriano Celentano, Ricchi e Poveri and many others 🎶

And whenever I hear familiar songs, it makes me so happy.

When they played during the breaks between matches, I just sat there smiling.

It felt like some kind of unreal reality.

And in that moment, I wasn’t thinking about the trip back or about being tired.

There was only music, the court, and one feeling:

I’m exactly where I want to be.

And moments like these remind me that sometimes we don’t travel for a country, a tournament, or even for a result.

We travel for feelings.

And this journey gave me feelings I didn’t even know I had been missing.

Dreams are not only meant to come true.

They are also meant to give us the strength to keep moving toward them — and to keep moving forward.
