Feel at home whilst traveling

Coffeedesk, Warsaw

Next stop — Warsaw.

I’ve already lost count of how many times I’ve been here since the war began. Before that — just once.

Today Warsaw, and sometimes Krakow, are my places to pause. Places where I can stop, breathe out, recharge, and keep going.

There are cities that, when you return to them again and again, start to feel like home.

Once, that was just a dream.

I didn’t know how to travel alone. I was afraid of everything — simply because I lacked experience. But it comes only one way — when you travel on your own and take full responsibility.

Over time, I developed a travel habit —
during each trip, I write down what I can improve.

Simplify something. Do something differently. Add something new.

Like this time — in every new country, I’ll order coffee in the local language.
Something new for new neural connections and new encounters.

To feel at home, I return to the same hotels,
visit familiar cafes, start and end my day with my own small rituals.

I call it — bringing my lifestyle with me.

I remember when even saying one sentence in English at a cafe felt difficult.
Now it’s simply part of the journey.

Of course, learning English matters if you want to travel freely. But now, with the rise of AI, language no longer feels like a barrier.

Recently, I even read a book in Italian without really knowing the language.
And on the train to Warsaw, I met a Brazilian who spoke Ukrainian —
and wasn’t afraid of making mistakes.
We helped him along — and it was light, fun, and led to a connection.

We often fear the new. The unknown.

But it’s enough to walk the same street a few times, step into the same cafe,
say just one phrase in a foreign language —
and a sense of familiarity and calm appears.

I love this feeling — when each city becomes a little bit yours, and you remain yourself — even as you feel that change has already begun.

Because every journey changes you ♡

If this made you smile,
if it brought a little warmth inside —
you can treat me to a coffee for a new story ☕

Thank you for reading and for treating me to a coffee
